Sean, Tim and I had a bet to see who could get to their goal weight first. Every month we each added $20 to the pot and the first person to hit their goal weight would win the pot. Sean weighed in today at 233.4. His goal was 235. He was over 300 pounds in January. Way to go Sean! I, on the other hand need to lose 10 more pounds. Ugh!
Kayla had her 13th birthday party last night. They played games, ate Chineese food, watched movies and had a sleep over. In the morning I made Crepes for everyone. It was a great party! Here are some clips from the party.
We went to Flaming Gorge with the Herde's this weekend. We had a blast. We rafted down the Green river and did a little cliff jumping. This is a clip of Braden and Sean jumping of a 25' cliff.
I go to Hawaii in 10 weeks and I've been trying to lose some weight before I go. So I'm trying HCG. I know about 15 people who have done the HCG diet and have lost a lot of weight. This is my second shot and today I'm bulking up. Tomorrow I'm limited to 500 calories. Crazy!
We spent Fourth of July week in Richfield and Fish Lake. The whole family was there. We had 13 cousins fishing, hiking and having fun! Here's some pictures from our trip.
My buddy Eric sent me a hat and two water bottles from Fitness Ridge in St. George, Utah. This is the official Biggest Loser Resort and you all need to check it out. I've visited Eric, he's the general manager, and walked around the place and it is awesome. If you want to jump start your weight loss and learn what they teach on the biggest loser go check it out! www.biggestloserresort.com Thanks Eric!
So today is the last day of the active challenge. I missed my goal by a few pounds. My goal was to lose 20 pounds and I lost 9. My other goal was to run a 5k and I did it. This has been very fun! I still have a goal to weigh 200 by October. That's another 25 pounds. I'll keep you updated.
This is my week 12 update. This is my worst week of the entire competition. I only worked out 3 times and I ate like a crazy man. There's only one week left and I've got to make it a good one.
So someone told me that balance in your life brings happiness. So Jared and I try to work really hard and play just a little. South Carolina is beautiful!
This is my week 11 update for The Active Challenge. I worked out 4 times this week and spent the weekend in Parowan with Lisa's family. I think I got food poisoning cause I felt sick all weekend which stopped me from working out a couple of the days. I've now lost 9 pounds and have 11 more to go.
Today we had Subway sandwiches on Utah Lake and played in the cold water. We blew up the "Carribean Island" and tied it to the boat. Now we're all a little red but we love it. It felt so good to be in the sun!
This is my Active Challenge week 10 update. I ran in the Live wElle 5k run in Springville. I did it in 33:35 and ran the entire 3.1 miles. I worked out 6 days this week and now I'm really going to work on the second part of my goal, losing 20 pounds.
Week 9 update for The Active Challenge. This week I continued the workouts and on Saturday Lisa and I ran a full 3.1 miles outside. We basically ran the 5k already. This was a big move for me. Now I've got to focus on weight loss.
We were in Portland Oregon this week and we were told to get the Filler burger from The Giant. This burger was huge but just not that good. In fact Tim and I felt just sick after we ate it. It needed some fry sauce or something. Also, I'm not a big egg fan on my burger. We did attack it but we're not big fans.
The Active Challenge - week 8. This week I was is Dallas Texas most of the week. We still hit the gym on the road. My 5k is coming up in two weeks. I ran three miles twice on the treadmill this week and worked out five times. I'm going to have to work hard to meet my weight loss goal.
Today after fathers & sons Christian & I met Tyler & Nathan Romney up the canyon and went fishing. We caught six fish in all. Not bad! We had a great time!
We are always treated like kings at Magleby's in Springville. Cody is a great server you've got to ask for him. This is us stuffing our faces with the best desserts.
This is my week 6 Active Challenge update. I worked out 6 days this week. I ran, played softball, eliptical, cycled and lifted. Sean and I walked to lunch 3 times last week on top of the working out we did. I've lost 7 pounds now since starting the Active Challenge. It was a good week!
This is my week 5 update for The Active Challenge. I worked out five days and even went on a family bike ride tonight. My eating was good during the week and the weekend comes. I have lost four, close to five pounds since I started the Active Challenge. I can now run over two miles which is huge for me. That's my update!
Taylor's first single! She bugged me all day to record het and put it on fb so Rob could see it. She is soooo funny! She thinks she sounds like Selena Gomez!
This was another crazy week for me. I got home from vacation and started eating and working out really good at the begining of the week and then we had our company retreat. It's basically three days of eating and planning. We did workout two of the three days. I ran outside again and it kicked my butt. Sean and I started lifting weights again and my muscles were so sore. For anyone interested they are doing a second active challenge. Check it out at www.theactivechallenge.com
So today I taught the priesthood lesson on prayer. I wanted the Elders to feel how Heavenly Father feels when we pray to him. So I filmed as many children of the Elders as I could and asked them questions. I asked why they were thankful for their dad, what they wanted, what they were sorry for and why they loved their dad. I think it turned out good. Anyway, if you're interested here's the clip.
We took the girls to the Irvine Spectrum to get a Boardwalk Ice Cream. They dip ice cream in chocolate (I had dark, thanks Josh) and then smother it in toppings. It is so good. You've got to try it out!
I worked out a lot this week but I ate a lot this week too. This is not good. I'm just going to have to get serious again. My vacation's over and it's go time!
Lisa and I walked down to have breakfast at the Beachcomber this morning and they were holding lifeguard tryouts. Lisa loved all the hot bodies and I loved the food. :) It was fun!
This is my update for week two of the Active Challenge. I worked out really hard Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday ate way to much food. Sunday ate even more food but worked out tonight. It felt so good. I have yet to run outside. The weather in Utah stinks, it snowed 4" today. I'm spending the week in California this week and hope I can get out a run a mile. That's my update!
This is my update for The Active Challenge. Week 1 I lost two pounds and ran 4 out of the 5 times I worked out. The weekends always kill me but plugging through!
Ok this was by far the largest burger we've reviewed so far. It is a half pound of meat with pastrami and onion straws. This burger needs to be in a different category than In-N-Out and other fast food joints. This needs to be compared with the sit down places like Red Robin and Chili's. I loved this burger! It was the best so far but again I don't think it can be compared to fast food like BYU and SmashBurger. I didn't really care for the French fries, but the burger was amaizing. You have to go try it out!
Lisa and her cousins and aunts went to the filming of Good Things Utah today. They were in the audience and were filmed a couple of times. This is a their clip.
I have to say I wasn't even planning on getting a burger today but Sean and Tim came over and said they wanted to try out the BYU Creamery. I was really impressed. The burger was great! The fries were awesome! And of the three reviews we've done so far this is my top pick. Sean is way funny at the end of this clip, you've got to check it out. It's interesting, for Sean I really do believe price equals taste.
Today we tried out Barry's Park View Drive Inn in Spanish Fork. We still trying to find the best burger in all of Utah. I have to say they make a good burger, but In-N-Out and Five Guys still beat it. We did like it better than SmashBurger and they have pretty tasty fries. So check out the review and tell us where to go next.
All you guys that missed the CirclePix Ski Day missed out. It was such a nice day. Sean was skiing in shorts, no joke! We had so much fun! Watch this clip and tell me who has the best jump.
Tonight Lisa and I tried out the new Magleby's in Springville. The downstairs area is their fine dinning called The Grotto. They serve steak and seafood next to their homemade rolls. We had a nice time. Our waiter was fun and the food was good. For some reason I remember the rolls being better though. The steak was prepared just the way I like it and the crab stuffed shrimp was wonderful. The prices are a bit higher than say Outback but still reasonable. Shane our waiter gave us free dessert because Lisa & I are so charming. Who wouldn't want to give these two hotties free dessert? We had a late dinner, 9:30pm and the place was empty. I always ask myself "Would I go back?" and I would. There are a few things I'd like to try on the menu and the food was really good. So try it out and let's get this place hopping.
Sean, Tim & I are on the Hunt for the best tasting hamburger in all of Utah. Our first review was SmashBurger in Orem by the University Mall. I personally really enjoyed my burger. I felt like it was up to the standards of Five Guys or InNOut. I liked it better that Red Robin but both Sean and Tim liked Red Robin better. I felt like the french fries were lacking. I rather go to Five Guys because the burger is just as good if not better and I love their fries. I still love InNOut the best. It's hard to beat Animal Style.
This lady sitting next to Dave and I on our flight to Miami had the thinnest laptop I have ever seen. It was awesome. Her dad works for Dell and gave it to her. I don't even think it's out yet.
We went down to St. George to hang with some friends and see the parade of homes. We swam, hiked, looked at homes and visited with friends. We saw Lisa's grandma and I saw my buddy Eric Jackson. We had a great time. Here are a few pictures from our trip.
This is my buddy Eric Jackson. He runs the Biggest Loser Fitness Ridge Resort in St. George, Utah. He used to be one of CirclePix' managers and we miss him a ton. He is now the General Manager at Fitness Ridge and I'm really proud of him. He is doing a great job running this place. It was nice to see you Eric! Keep up the good work!
So two weeks ago I lost 10 pounds of my Holiday weight and won $20 from Sean & Tim. Today I needed to lose an additional 4 pounds. Sean missed his weight last time and wanted to be challenged to weigh 285 today, losing over 15 lbs in two weeks. Tim has been holding steady this entire time. This is today's weigh in video.
Lisa wanted to take family pictures all dressed up in our Christmas outfits. I have an app that will take a picture every 10 seconds so we were having fun during our photo shoot. I then used our app, Tubey, to put all the pictures in a video. Enjoy!
The guys conned me into P90X Kempo tonight. One hour workout that kicked my butt! I did like it and my bodybugg said I burnt almost 600 calories. This is a clip of everyone finishing up with sit ups.
We went indoor skydiving today. So much fun! This is a clip of all seven of us that went today. At the end of this clip the instructor is doing some incredible tricks. You've got to check it out!
