Maui - Day 5

On Thursday we woke up at three in the morning to see the sun rise at the top of a volcano called Haleakala. We were soooo tired but the view was gorgeous. A shuttle picked us up at our hotel and took us to the top. It was so cold we were wearing coats, jeans and gloves.

After we explored at 10,000 feet we took a bike ride down to the bottom. The guide stopped at this beautiful view and had everyone take crazy pictures on the bike. We had fun.

Maui - Day 4

Wednesday was just a relaxing day. Lisa and I got a cabana and laid out all day. We just listened to music, read our books and swam. I love days like this. The pool here is beautiful. It is huge and has a sweet slide. I took some video going down the slide. Sean was at the bottom of the slide trying to BA the camera as I came down.

Everyday we go snorkeling. Today Sean and I saw three eels, a turtle and an eagle ray. It was the best shore dive we have had. I have been here a few times and I have never seen an eagle ray diving. I took some pictures and video. I love this waterproof camera.
We were filming the ray from above and then both Sean and I went diving down for a closer look. We got some good footage and at the end you can see Sean diving.
This eel was huge. Sean wanted to get the eel to bite his fine but it wouldn't do it. Some nice video below.

Dinner at Bubby Gump Shrimp

Wednesday night we went to Bubby Gump Shrimp restaurant. We were so excited to eat there because the last couple of times we have really loved it. But this time it just wasn't that good. We had the bucket of shrimp and it didn't seem that fresh. Then we ordered the salad and shrimp scampi and we were still not to impressed. What we did love was our company. We are having so much fun just being with our friends. Check out Tyler - always mov'n and shak'n!

Every night and morning we play cards and dominos.

Maui - Day 3

The highlight of our day was scuba diving. Sean, Jon and I went scuba diving while the ladies went shopping. First we did a scooter dive and then a regular dive. Riding a scooter was awesome. It made me feel like I was in the CIA or James Bond. Our guide found an octopus and let us hold it. We were amaized. We also saw a huge eel. The next dive was even better. We saw some incredible marine life. You are going to have to watch the video below to see it all.

Late in the day

We were chilling by the pool in the evening and this sweet Hawaiian came by to light the torches. We all urged Tyler to jump up and helped out.

Maui - Day 2

So today we started the day off with our morning walk. We were all up and on the path by 6:30am. I love to visit as we walk and just take in the beauty.

We then got ready and headed to The Plantation. The Plantation is a golf course that has a restaurant in the club house with the most beautiful views. Breakfast was delicious and the price was reasonable. I would definitely go back.
After breakfast, we went to Honolua bay to snorkel. It was awesome. There were tons of fish and the bay was breath taking. To get to the bay you walk through a small jungle which opens up to the bay. We couldn't wait to jump in.
After swimming for a couple of hours I was just smashed. I hit the bed a fell right to sleep. Lisa went to the pool and did some reading. We were all starving later that night and we all voted for Outback Steakhouse. Man, we ate like kings. We are having such a good time.

Maui - Day 1

Today we woke up at quarter to six. I love coming to Hawaii because the time change is four hours behind Utah. That means when I wake up at six in the morning in Hawaii my body feels like it's ten in the morning in Utah. And that is just perfect for me. Anyway, we took a walk to Black Rock and back to get a little exercise. We love the walk and view of the ocean, mountains and other islands. The weather was wonderful as always. We then had a bite to eat and headed down to the beach.
Sean and I went snorkeling first thing and saw a couple of turtles. One turned around and just looked at Sean for about a minute. We saw tons of beautiful fish. I wished I had my camera. The water was so calm and clear.
Lisa and I shared fajitas at Hard Rock Cafe. We are having fun with our friends. After we went to Cold Stone for a little ice cream and dancing.
Tonight we played cards and games and had a great time. Jen Herde is so funny. We just laugh and laugh until it hurts.

Maui with the Herdes

So we have been waiting to go to Maui all year. We are finally on our way. We are meeting Tyler and Karen Davis and Jon and Michelle Farris tonight at the resort. We are in the Crown Room right now waiting for our plane and they just announced that we're boarding.
